June 2008 The only "downtown" geocache thus far in the capital city of Quito is near a large Basilica. This old, gothic church is located on the edge of the colonial city. This is the old city of Quito. Let me suggest that if you visit Quito that you visit this church. Check out the sculpture all around the building. The turtles are particularly nice. When hiding a geocache in an urban center you have to think small and well hidden. Check out geocache "UIO Basilica - Venezuela y Carchi".
